A major boost for nature recovery in Lincolnshire has seen £168,000 awarded to the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust following a series of environmental offences investigated by the Environment Agency.
The funding comes through Enforcement Undertakings – legally binding agreements that allow businesses responsible for certain environmental offences to make financial contributions towards environmental improvement projects, alongside taking action to prevent future incidents.
The money will support practical conservation work across Lincolnshire, helping to restore habitats, enhance biodiversity, and protect local wildlife. Previous funding secured through similar agreements has already supported projects such as reedbed management and environmental DNA surveys at nature reserves across the county.
The Environment Agency says these agreements ensure that, where appropriate, funds are reinvested directly into local environmental projects, delivering lasting benefits for both communities and nature.
