The Children’s Commissioner is inviting care experienced young people to take part in a new youth voice project in partnership with Ofsted, giving them the opportunity to influence how children’s social care services are inspected across England.
The project aims to ensure that the voices and experiences of young people help shape future inspection frameworks and improve how Ofsted assesses services that support children and young people.
Successful applicants will be invited to attend a two-day workshop in London on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 August 2026, where they will:
- Share their experiences and views on Ofsted inspections.
- Help Ofsted better understand the experiences of care experienced young people.
- Contribute ideas that could influence future children’s social care inspections.
To apply, young people must:
- Live in England.
- Be aged 16 to 18 in August 2026.
- Have care experience.
- Be available to attend both workshop days in London. Travel, accommodation and meals will be provided.
Previous involvement in an Ofsted inspection is not required. The Children’s Commissioner is keen to hear from a diverse range of care experienced young people who want to make a difference.
