People with a passion for improving the wellbeing, safety and rights of adults are being encouraged to apply to become a Lay Member of the East Riding Safeguarding Adults Board.
The Board is looking for local residents who can bring an independent community perspective to safeguarding. No previous safeguarding experience is required – just an interest in making a positive difference and ensuring the voices of residents, carers, families and people with lived experience are heard.
As a Lay Member, you will:
- Attend six Board meetings each year.
- Share the views and experiences of local communities.
- Ask questions and provide independent challenge.
- Help shape decisions that improve safeguarding for adults across the East Riding.
Successful applicants will receive training, induction and ongoing support, with reasonable adjustments available where needed. The role is paid at £15 per hour, with travel expenses reimbursed on receipt of tickets.
