Frontline staff, volunteers and professionals are invited to attend a free one-day training event focusing on Modern Slavery: Identification, Referral and Support.
Modern slavery is an umbrella term that covers a range of exploitation affecting children, adults and some of the most vulnerable members of our communities. Often described as being “hidden in plain sight”, recognising the warning signs is vital to ensuring victims receive the support and protection they need.
This training is aimed at organisations and professionals who are not designated Modern Slavery First Responders but who may encounter or support potential victims through their work.
The event will cover:
- Recognising the signs of modern slavery in practice.
- Understanding the systems in place to support victims.
- Expert presentations on child criminal exploitation, cuckooing and specialist victim support.
- An interactive tabletop exercise based on real-life case studies.
If your role involves working with members of the public, this training is an excellent opportunity to increase your knowledge and confidence in identifying and responding to potential cases of modern slavery.
